Counselling is a way of addressing problems by talking them through with someone who, whilst supportive, is not directly involved in the situation.
A Counsellor will:
Listen carefully to what you have to say.
Enable you to express your feelings.
Help you to explore and understand your difficulties.
Support you to try and find ways of managing these more effectively.
Confidentiality
A fundamental principle of counselling is that it should be confidential. There are some exceptional situations when confidentiality cannot be guaranteed, and these are explained at your first session. Otherwise counselling takes place under strict conditions of confidentiality and nothing you discuss will be disclosed to anyone without your permission.
Our Mission Statement
We feel that counselling should be accessible to everyone. It is our aim to offer counselling to all, regardless of gender, age, ethnic origin, sexual orientation or identity, disability, ex-offender or refugee status.
